Job Overview:
The position of Consultant for Indigenous Knowledge Management Seminar is focused on organizing a seminar that aims to recognize and integrate indigenous knowledge as a fundamental element in governance and climate change management within Biosphere Reserves. The seminar is part of a larger project that seeks to enhance environmental resilience through indigenous knowledge systems and nature-based solutions.   • This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including indigenous communities and experts in the field, to ensure the successful execution of the event and the promotion of indigenous cultures and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a comprehensive set of responsibilities to ensure the successful organization of the seminar. Key duties include:
  • Attending coordination meetings with the event's organizing committee, which includes UNESCO and the Trifinio Plan Committee.
  • Creating an invitation list based on the committee's guidelines regarding participant distribution.
  • Assisting the oversight committee in developing and monitoring the seminar agenda.
  • Supporting the committee in drafting and sending out invitations.
  • Maintaining a detailed list of invited guests and participants, including their names, countries, organizations, positions, and contact information.
  • Guiding guests to various seminar activities and meal areas.
  • Overseeing audiovisual services during the event, ensuring all technical needs are met.
  • Compiling an event report with photographs and a final summary.
  • Assisting with guided tours to the archaeological site of Copán. 1
  • Presenting progress updates at each organizing committee meeting. 1
  • Performing other related tasks as required by the event.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree at the bachelor's level in fields related to Natural Resources, Hospitality, Tourism, or similar disciplines. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as familiarity with the Trifinio region and the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve. Previous experience in organizing similar events will be considered an advantage, highlighting the importance of practical knowledge in event management within the context of indigenous cultures.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a professional university degree at the bachelor's level in relevant fields such as Natural Resources, Hospitality, Tourism, or related areas. Experience:
