Job Overview: The Programme Coordinator for Sierra Leone will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing the Education Outcomes Fund's initiatives within the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various programs, ensuring that they align with EOF's mission and objectives. The Programme Coordinator will also be expected to monitor and evaluate program outcomes, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of EOF programs in Sierra Leone, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with local partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to foster effective partnerships and enhance program delivery.
Monitor project progress and outcomes, preparing regular reports and updates for management and stakeholders.
Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops for local partners and staff involved in program implementation.
Conduct research and analysis to inform program strategies and identify best practices in ECCE.
Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Represent EOF at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote the organization's mission and initiatives.
Provide support in fundraising efforts and grant writing to secure additional funding for programs.
Required Qualifications:
Strong understanding of early childhood education and care principles, particularly in the context of Sierra Leone.
Proven experience in program management, preferably in the education sector or related fields.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in program coordination or management, particularly in the education sector. Experience working in Sierra Leone or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Sierra Leone is an advantage and will be considered a plus for this position.
Additional Notes: This position is classified at the Associate level, specifically ICS 07, and is offered on an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) basis. The contract is regular and ongoing, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time and may be required to travel within Sierra Leone as part of their duties.
