Job Overview:

This branch serves as a multimedia service aimed at promoting the UN's universal ideals, including peace and respect for human rights. The intern will gain practical experience in a multilingual UN newsroom, focusing on producing news articles, feature stories, and multimedia content tailored for Chinese-speaking audiences. The internship is designed to be full-time, requiring 35 hours per week, and is expected to last between four to six months, starting on September 1, 202

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include drafting Chinese news articles by integrating and translating information from various UN materials such as reports, press releases, and official statements. They will also translate English video scripts and captions into Chinese, proofread and fact-check Chinese-language content, and assist with editorial planning and background research. The intern will participate in the production of videos and multimedia storytelling projects, conduct interviews, support field reporting assignments, and film and edit short-form videos for social media. Additionally, they will engage with audiences, contribute ideas during editorial meetings, and perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in fields such as communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies, or be in their final year of a bachelor's degree in these areas. Candidates should be proficient in standard word processing and spreadsheet software, demonstrate a keen interest in the UN's work, and possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
