Job Overview:
The Finance Assistant position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within the organization. The role involves providing procedural and technical support to staff in finance and budget areas, ensuring compliance with WFP's financial policies and regulations. The Finance Assistant will monitor monthly expenditure forecasts, prepare financial reports, and manage bank and petty cash accounts. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Assistant will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to: assisting in providing procedural and technical support to staff regarding finance and budget compliance; monitoring monthly expenditure forecasts and preparing expenditure reports; regularly monitoring bank and petty cash accounts; verifying vendor claims and ensuring timely payments; compiling financial information for reports related to budgets and expenditures; retrieving, formatting, and validating information from financial systems; monitoring and recording expenses in line with the approved budget; preparing bank transfer sheets and currency conversion requests; maintaining a file register in Teams for compliance with WFP guidelines; acting as petty cash cashier; contributing to financial market analysis; assisting in the capacity development of cooperating partners; providing guidance and on-the-job training to support staff; and performing other related duties as required. The Finance Assistant will also be responsible for delivering accurate financial reports and ensuring compliance with IPSAS standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Finance Assistant position must possess a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices. They should have experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial regulations. Proficiency in financial software and systems is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
