Job Overview: The Programme Management Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the management, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the ACT Programme, which aims to end violence against women and girls. This position involves overseeing the management of human and financial resources, providing technical guidance, and ensuring quality assurance in programme delivery. The specialist will work closely with regional components and partners, ensuring alignment with the programme's goals and results-based indicators. Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Programme Management and implementation of global and regional programme, ensuring compliance with programme goals and results-based indicators.
Build stakeholder engagement and capacity strengthening by establishing relationships with partners and providing technical assistance.
Oversee monitoring and reporting of the programme, including the development of monitoring standards and preparation of reports.
Guide people and budget management, ensuring effective communication and coordination between offices.
Develop sustainability plans, identifying new funding opportunities and preparing donor engagement materials. The incumbent will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: A Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Political Science, Development, Public Administration, or Gender is required. A first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in programme/project management, implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting is essential. Experience in liaising with governments, donors, and civil society organizations is also required, along with strong analytical skills and knowledge of Results Based Management.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Political Science, Development, Public Administration, or Gender. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in programme/project management, including implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting. Experience working with governments, donors, and civil society organizations is crucial, as is familiarity with UN systems and processes. International experience is highly desirable, along with proficiency in using office software and web-based management systems.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.
