Job Overview:
The Program Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) in India, particularly in the context of malaria control and elimination efforts. This position involves providing technical support in program management, specifically focusing on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to facilitate data-driven decision-making. The Program Officer will be responsible for strengthening data recording and reporting mechanisms, supporting governance and capacity-building initiatives, and delivering critical program insights by leveraging multiple data sources. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying innovative technologies and methods to support malaria elimination goals, ensuring that the program is responsive to the evolving public health landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Officer's responsibilities include consolidating, cleaning, and conducting multi-dimensional analyses on programmatic data to provide actionable insights to officials at NCVBDC. They will undertake systematic assessments of the existing surveillance framework, identifying gaps and suggesting process improvements. The role also involves developing and managing a surveillance data quality assurance framework, creating dashboards and decision support tools for key performance indicators, and preparing technical briefs and fact sheets to communicate findings. Additionally, the Program Officer will document program progress through reports and presentations, conduct periodic visits to states and districts to address challenges, and collaborate closely with the malaria team and various stakeholders to align priorities and enhance program effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, or a related field, along with at least 6 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Professional experience in a demanding private sector environment, such as strategy consulting or public sector advisory, is essential. Candidates should have prior experience with monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and dashboard development for multilateral funded projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with the ability to work independently in remote settings and adapt to new challenges. Strong written and oral communication skills in English, problem-solving abilities, and a detail-oriented approach are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in relevant fields such as public health, epidemiology, economics, or sociology. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong academic foundation that supports their analytical and program management capabilities, particularly in the context of health systems and disease control.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically at least 6 years of professional experience in relevant fields, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Languages:
