Job Overview:
The Human Resources Intern position is designed to provide practical experience in the field of human resources management within the United Nations framework. The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Staff Development Assistant and will be involved in various tasks that support the Organization Development Unit (ODU) and the Human Resources Management Section (HRMS). The internship is expected to last for six months, during which the intern will gain insights into HR processes, contribute to ongoing projects, and develop skills relevant to human resources and organizational development. The intern will assist in various administrative and operational tasks, including data collection, monitoring training programs, and supporting HR-related statistical reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the verification of learning needs by developing surveys and collecting data; monitoring and maintaining the O-Induction programme; tracking attendance for language courses; contributing to the design and improvement of HR dashboards; supporting the implementation of ongoing HR projects; assisting with reporting requirements for mandatory training and performance management; supporting logistics for learning programmes and workshops; drafting internal communications and training announcements; compiling periodic training reports; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the head of the unit. These responsibilities will provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of HR functions and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application: be enrolled in or have completed a first degree or graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). An academic background in adult education, human resources management, or management studies is desirable. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a relevant educational background, which may include a first degree or higher in fields such as human resources management, adult education, management studies, or related disciplines. The internship is open to those who are currently enrolled in a degree program or have recently completed their studies, ensuring that the selected candidate has a solid foundation in the principles of human resources and organizational development.

Experience:
While prior work experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in human resources, administration, or related fields will be considered an asset. The internship is aimed at individuals who are looking to gain practical experience and develop their skills in a professional setting, particularly within an international organization like the United Nations.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French, another UN official language, is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's application. Proficiency in additional languages can also be beneficial in a multicultural work environment.
