Job Overview:
The Training & Educational Analyst position at UNU Macau is designed to support the Institute's goals in training, education, and degree programs. The appointee will work under the guidance of the Training & Educational Officer and will be responsible for designing and planning comprehensive training programs that align with institutional goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). This role involves conducting training needs assessments, co-designing instructional materials, and preparing course content that adheres to UN and UNU standards. The analyst will also be tasked with delivering engaging training sessions, both in-person and virtually, while fostering interactive learning environments. Additionally, the position requires coordination with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure successful program delivery, as well as evaluating training effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements. The role also includes conducting research to inform program development and maintaining accurate records of training sessions and compliance documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and plan training programs, including conducting needs assessments and co-designing modules and instructional materials.
  • Deliver and facilitate learning experiences through engaging training sessions, adjusting methods based on audience feedback.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to identify needs, market training offerings, and customize content.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys and performance metrics, generating reports on outcomes.
  • Support organizational development by maintaining training records and updating programs as necessary.
  • Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices to enhance training relevance.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Institute Management, ensuring timely and quality delivery of educational programs and contributions to degree programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in education, international affairs, business administration, economics, psychology, development studies, public policy, information systems, computer science, AI, or related fields.
  • At least two years of full-time working experience in a relevant field, with proven experience as a trainer or facilitator.
  • Relevant experience in higher education institutions, training organizations, or the UN education sector is an asset.
  • Proven ability to design instructional materials and adapt content for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge in program marketing and contracting, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as education, international affairs, business administration, economics, psychology, development studies, public policy, information systems, computer science, AI, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of training and educational program development within the context of the United Nations and its goals.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of full-time working experience in a relevant field. Candidates should have proven experience as a trainer, facilitator, or in a learning and development role. Experience in higher education institutions, training organizations, or within the UN education sector will be considered advantageous. The ability to design instructional materials and adapt content for diverse audiences is crucial, as is experience in program marketing and promotion.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with strong communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent drafting abilities. Fluency in Chinese is considered a significant asset, and knowledge of another UN official language is also beneficial for this position.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Macau, and the selected candidate is required to reside full-time in the region. This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be employed under a Personnel Service Agreement (PSA) contract, with an initial duration of one year and the possibility of renewal based on performance. The annual net salary ranges from USD $36,347 to USD $40,708, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave and a health insurance scheme. UNU Macau will cover the cost of air travel for international appointees to Macau at the start of their appointment and upon completion of their service. Additionally, international appointees may apply for a tax-exempted monthly rental subsidy up to MOP $10,000 if they relocate to Macau full-time.
