Job Overview: The National Technical Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting project implementation and ensuring that objectives are met effectively. This position requires a deep understanding of the local context and the ability to provide expert advice on technical matters. The consultant will be responsible for developing strategies, conducting assessments, and facilitating workshops to enhance project outcomes. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. The consultant will also be expected to monitor progress and report on deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical advice and support to project teams and stakeholders.
Develop and implement project strategies and action plans.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify needs and opportunities for improvement.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related discipline. Additional certifications in project management or technical consultancy are highly desirable.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical consultancy or project management, preferably in the development sector. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Gambia is an asset and will be considered a plus.
Additional Notes: The position is a mid-level consultancy role with a contract duration of seven months, starting from the posting date. The consultant will be engaged through a deliverable-based payment schedule, with the contract expected to extend until 28 February 2027, contingent upon performance and project needs. This is a full-time position, and the consultant may be required to travel within the country as needed.
