Job Overview: The position of Lawyer - Capital Market and Treasury at the EIB involves providing comprehensive legal advice and support to the Finance and Risk Management Directorates. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Lawyer - Capital Market and Treasury include:
Providing legal advice on capital markets and treasury operations, including funding activities, liquidity management, and derivatives.
Advising on financial instruments and structured products, as well as the development of innovative financial products, particularly in digital finance.
Contributing to the legal framework governing the Bank's funding activities, including documentation, issuance programmes, and disclosure matters.
Analyzing legal and financial risks and proposing effective mitigating solutions.
Supporting the structuring and execution of treasury-related transactions, focusing on legal aspects of risk and pricing frameworks.
Maintaining relationships with national and international financial institutions and external counterparties, including law firms.
Participating in transversal projects and initiatives of strategic importance for the Bank.
Keeping abreast of relevant legal developments in legislation and regulations.
Conducting research and legal studies on issues pertinent to the Unit's areas of focus.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in law, equivalent to at least a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for specializations in financial, banking, or business law. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, ideally combining experience from a law firm and an international financial institution, central bank, or financial institution. Candidates should have solid experience in capital markets and treasury-related matters, including derivatives, and experience in innovative areas such as digital finance or new financial products is considered an asset. The ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide pragmatic, risk-aware advice is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in law, with a minimum qualification equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. Specialization in financial, banking, or business law is preferred, as it aligns closely with the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally include a combination of work in a law firm and an international financial institution, central bank, or financial institution. Candidates should demonstrate solid experience in capital markets and treasury-related matters, including derivatives, and familiarity with innovative areas such as digital finance and new financial products is advantageous.

Additional Notes: This is a full-time position at grade 5, and the EIB offers a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be required to work from the Luxembourg headquarters, necessitating regular office presence. The EIB provides relocation support to facilitate the transition for new employees. Panel interviews are anticipated for the end of July/August.
