Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: developing logistics plans and processes in compliance with WFP policies; managing logistics projects and operational activities; collecting and analyzing data to improve local logistics performance; conducting financial analyses and budget reviews; preparing operational pipeline planning; managing supply chain operations including procurement and customs clearance; providing technical support to other units; supervising junior staff; preparing accurate reports including Key Performance Indicators; supporting capacity building for WFP staff and partners; establishing productive relationships with logistics colleagues; participating in emergency logistics preparedness; and continuously reviewing internal processes to enhance efficiency. The officer may also be required to act in an emergency response capacity as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience is acceptable. Professional certification in Supply Chain Management is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of logistics operations and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders are essential.
