Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position within WFP Nepal's Partnerships, Communication and Reporting unit is focused on supporting the execution of communication and advocacy strategies. The role is crucial in positioning WFP Nepal as a leader in food security, nutrition, disaster response, and resilience building. Volunteers will enhance the visibility of WFP's initiatives by creating high-quality visual materials that adhere to WFP's branding guidelines. This position requires creativity and a strong understanding of graphic design principles to effectively communicate WFP's mission and activities through various visual formats.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will work closely with the WFP Nepal Partnerships, Communication and Reporting unit and under the supervision of the Communication Associate. Their responsibilities include:
  • Designing visual assets for thematic campaigns to promote WFP's initiatives.
  • Creating 8 social media graphics per month for platforms such as X, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Designing 2-4 infographics, greeting cards, flyers, fact sheets, and data visualizations.
  • Transforming technical content into visually appealing formats that align with WFP branding guidelines.
  • Ensuring consistency and quality in all visual materials produced.
  • Providing final soft copies ready for printing or online posting, along with editable source files.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong background in graphic design, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). A good understanding of branding principles and experience in creating visual content for social media and print is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid portfolio showcasing their design work, particularly in creating social media graphics and other visual materials.

Experience:
Previous experience in graphic design, particularly in a non-profit or humanitarian context, is highly desirable. Familiarity with WFP's mission and objectives, as well as experience in creating content for social media platforms, will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communication and materials will be produced in English. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Nepali, would be considered a plus but is not required.

This is a volunteer position, and the duration of the contract is not specified. The role is expected to be part-time, allowing flexibility for volunteers to manage their time effectively.
