Job Overview: The position of Data and Artificial Intelligence Consultant for Governance Innovation Forum is designed to leverage data and AI technologies to enhance governance practices. The consultant will be expected to provide expert advice and innovative solutions that integrate data analytics and artificial intelligence into governance frameworks. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify governance challenges that can be addressed through data-driven approaches. The consultant will also be responsible for developing strategies that promote the effective use of data and AI in decision-making processes, ensuring that these technologies are used ethically and responsibly. The assignment period is from June 30, 2026, to October 30, 2026, encompassing a total of 25 consultancy days. The consultant will work closely with UNDP teams and partners to facilitate workshops, training sessions, and discussions aimed at fostering a culture of innovation in governance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Conducting assessments of current governance practices and identifying opportunities for improvement through data and AI.
Developing and implementing innovative data-driven solutions that enhance governance effectiveness.
Collaborating with government officials, civil society, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of AI technologies in governance.
Designing and facilitating training programs and workshops to build capacity among stakeholders on the use of data and AI in governance.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and progress made during the consultancy period.
Engaging in continuous learning and staying updated on the latest trends and developments in data science and AI relevant to governance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field. They should have proven experience in applying data analytics and AI technologies in governance or public sector contexts. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of governance frameworks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should also have a track record of successfully managing projects and delivering results in a timely manner.
Educational Background: A master's degree or higher in data science, artificial intelligence, public administration, governance, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in data analytics or AI technologies will be considered favorably. A strong academic background that includes coursework in statistics, machine learning, and governance studies is highly desirable.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in data science, AI, or governance innovation. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs in similar roles will be an advantage. Proven experience in project management and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the region, is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's profile.
