Job Overview:

The primary responsibilities include the collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization of sector-specific data. The associate will maintain high-quality information systems, such as the 3W, 4W, and 5W frameworks, gap analyses, and interactive dashboards. This position ensures that sector partners can deliver data-driven, transparent, and accountable food security interventions. The associate will be involved in various data management processes, ensuring that the information is accurate, consistent, and accessible to all stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and operational priorities within the response, contributing to effective humanitarian assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the data collection, analysis, and reporting processes for the Food Security Sector (FSS), including partner tracking matrices, monthly 5Ws data, beneficiary databases, and operational datasets.
  • Ensure compliance with WFP and global Food Security Cluster (FSC) standards through routine data quality assurance.
  • Maintain and update centralized sector information management systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and cross-functional integration.
  • Develop and produce information products and analytical outputs, such as interactive dashboards, gap analyses, and situational updates.
  • Conduct geographic, demographic, and food security analyses to identify vulnerabilities and service coverage gaps.
  • Design and maintain data visualization and geospatial products using relevant information management and GIS platforms.
  • Support sector planning and reporting exercises, including the Joint Response Plan (JRP) and seasonal assessments.
  • Compile and disseminate sector-specific datasets and report products, including operational summaries and bi-weekly updates.
  • Draft and disseminate sector reports and correspondence for partners and stakeholders. 1
  • Manage sector information-sharing platforms and communication channels. 1
  • Coordinate information exchange with FSS partners and inter-agency stakeholders. 1
  • Provide information management support to sector coordination mechanisms, including organizing meetings and preparing presentations. 1
  • Offer technical support and capacity strengthening to cooperating partners on reporting requirements and information management processes. 1
  • Support sector events, workshops, and knowledge management initiatives. 1
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the objectives of the Food Security Sector and WFP operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a University Degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, or a related field. A strong background in data management and statistical analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing and analyzing data, as well as experience in information management processes. Familiarity with food security interventions and humanitarian assistance frameworks is advantageous. Candidates should also exhibit strong analytical skills and the ability to produce high-quality information products.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Data Science is required. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding data management and analysis, which are critical for the role.

Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of work experience in data management, statistical analysis, information management, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing complex datasets and producing analytical outputs that support decision-making processes. Experience in the humanitarian sector or with food security programs is highly desirable, as it provides context for the role's responsibilities.

Languages:
Fluency in both spoken and written English and Bangla is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
This position is a Service Contract for a duration of 12 months, based in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. The role is open only to Bangladeshi Nationals.
