Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks depending on their assigned area. For example, Communication Interns will support visual design tasks, write articles, and assist in internal communications campaigns. Data & Analytics Interns will work with datasets to conduct analyses, develop dashboards, and document methodologies. People & Culture Interns will assist in HR projects, data management, and process improvement. Learning & Development Interns will support online course management and training sessions. Administrative Interns will handle data entry, quality checks, and support HR-related tasks. Each intern will contribute to their team's objectives while gaining valuable experience in their respective fields.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program or have graduated within the past two years in a relevant field such as Communications, Business Administration, Human Resources, or Data Management. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language or a local language is considered an asset. Interns should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values, showcasing their ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a diverse environment.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is essential for this internship. Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in fields such as Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Management, Human Resources, Economics, Sociology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Management. This educational foundation will equip interns with the necessary skills to contribute effectively to their assigned roles within UNICEF.
Experience: While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to the fields of interest will be beneficial. Interns should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home each week, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours or a part-time schedule of 30 hours per week. Candidates must fund their travel and living expenses and provide proof of medical insurance for the duration of the internship. They are also responsible for obtaining any necessary visas or residence permits. Interns are entitled to take up to 2.5 days off per month for any reason, with stipulations regarding stipend reductions for absences beyond this quota.
