Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive research on economic development issues in Punjab, including labor markets, investment opportunities, and policy impacts.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on economic development initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of economic development programs and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of economic development theories and practices, particularly in the context of developing countries.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree combined with extensive relevant experience may also be considered. Additional certifications in data analysis or project management would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in economic research, analysis, or development projects is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a governmental context is preferred. Familiarity with the socio-economic landscape of Punjab or Pakistan is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Urdu or Punjabi is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and the assignment is expected to last for 220 days over a period of 12 months. The role is full-time and requires the candidate to be based in Punjab, Pakistan.
