Job Overview:
The Research Analyst-Data Support and Analysis position is designed to provide analytical support and data management for various projects under the UNDP in Pakistan. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform decision-making processes and enhance project outcomes. The analyst will work closely with project teams to ensure that data-driven insights are integrated into project planning and implementation. This position requires a strong understanding of research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining databases and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data relevant to UNDP projects in Pakistan.
  • Develop and maintain databases to track project performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations to communicate findings to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify data needs and provide timely support for decision-making.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize information to inform project strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP data management policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to project staff on data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on data-driven strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of data analysis tools and techniques. Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar) is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in research methodologies and data management practices. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively convey complex data insights to diverse audiences. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred and may be considered an advantage for candidates.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in data analysis, research, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in development contexts is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNDP's mission and operations will be considered a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Pakistan (such as Urdu or Punjabi) is an asset and will be considered beneficial for the role.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a total Level of Effort (LoE) of 220 days spread over a 12-month period. The contract duration and specific terms will be discussed upon selection. The position is full-time, and candidates are expected to be available for the entire duration of the assignment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and additional benefits may be provided as per UNDP policies.
