Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant (Database & Scope) position is crucial for supporting the effective delivery of assistance packages within the WFP framework. The role involves performing specialized and standardized processes related to policy and program activities, ensuring alignment with broader program policies and guidelines. The Programme Assistant will be responsible for project management and general office support, adhering to established targets and WFP’s policies. This position requires the compilation and analysis of data to prepare reports that inform operational decision-making, particularly in areas such as security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and vulnerability assessments. The Programme Assistant will also facilitate communication and collaboration with local partners, NGOs, and government institutions, acting as a point of contact for operational queries. The role demands a proactive approach to emergency preparedness, ensuring that WFP can respond swiftly to crises. This position is intended for Pakistan Nationals only and will contribute to building a roster of prequalified applicants for future opportunities within the same job profile.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized and standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work, ensuring alignment with wider program policies and guidelines.
  • Provide project management and general office support, following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports related to food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance to aid operational decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work, adhering to corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal counterparts to support effective implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Facilitate communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for resolving general operational queries and requesting assistance as necessary.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP can quickly respond and deploy resources to affected areas during crises.
  • Manage overall project beneficiaries’ data, including collection, validation, cleaning, and analysis, ensuring accurate entry of complete project data in corporate tools like COMET and SCOPE. 1
  • Oversee data management for all cash-based transfer (CBT) projects. 1
  • Build the capacity of project and cooperating partner staff on data management skills and data processing protocols. 1
  • Compile, analyze, and report on project data from field offices, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines. 1
  • Implement WFP’s data protection policy at the field level by respective cooperating partners. 1
  • Ensure successful implementation of all COMET modules, providing capacity building for relevant staff as needed. 1
  • Coordinate with program technical units to follow up on other required outputs. 1
  • Assist the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit in monitoring and evaluating WFP activities, providing technical analysis and interpretation. 1
  • Ensure accurate data reporting, reconciliation, validation, and provision for annual standard project reports. 1
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely reporting and infographic presentations on programs and activities to facilitate informed decision-making. 1
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, business administration, or economics in a related functional area is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of program-related activities and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, public health, business administration, or economics is highly desirable. This educational foundation will equip candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the specialized tasks associated with the role effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in program-related activities, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in database management and monitoring of humanitarian or development projects. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of program implementation and the importance of accurate data management in achieving project goals.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and partners in the region.
