Job Overview: The Supply Chain Manager for the Cuba Crisis-Response will be responsible for planning, managing, and providing technical and operational oversight of all supply chain activities related to the humanitarian response in Cuba. This includes procurement, logistics, transportation, and warehousing, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of assistance to vulnerable populations. The role requires a proactive approach to anticipate and manage supply chain needs and challenges, applying principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability. The manager will collaborate with programming leads to strengthen supply chain management plans and ensure compliance with CRS and donor regulations. The position is critical in ensuring that the organization can deliver timely and well-coordinated assistance to those in need, while also building the capacity of local partners and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with direct reports and programming leads to enhance the supply chain management plan.
Determine procurement and logistics service requirements, including specifications and delivery schedules.
Ensure accountability and transparency in all supply chain operations, adhering to CRS and donor regulations.
Manage and supervise team dynamics, providing coaching and performance management for direct reports.
Support local partner staff and build effective relationships in line with CRS partnership principles.
Lead the design and implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement processes to maximize value for money.
Oversee logistical infrastructure, storage facilities, and transportation resources, ensuring safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols are followed.
Manage inventory control and comprehensive tracking systems throughout the supply chain cycle.
Prepare and submit various reports in a timely manner. 1
Foster a learning environment by encouraging the sharing of ideas and solutions among staff.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a relevant field is required.
A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in supply chain management, with progressive responsibilities in logistics, procurement, transportation, or warehousing.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field, professional certification(s) in Supply Chain, and experience in relief supply chain management.
Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management experience in Cuba or Latin America and the Caribbean is highly desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a relevant field. A Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field is strongly preferred, along with professional certifications in Supply Chain management being a plus.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in supply chain management, with a focus on logistics, procurement, transportation, and warehousing. Experience in relief supply chain management is preferred, particularly in the context of Cuba or Latin America and the Caribbean.
Languages: Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for managing supply chain operations and collaborating with diverse teams.
