Job Overview: The Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of the Regional Hub for Central and West Africa. Duties and Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: initiating and processing human resource activities such as recruitment, placement, and performance appraisals; responding to staff inquiries regarding administrative procedures and entitlements; maintaining vacancy announcement files; monitoring staffing tables and preparing statistical data; assisting in budget preparation and financial reporting; drafting routine correspondence; coordinating with service units; and performing other related administrative duties as required. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant may guide and supervise junior staff and assist in data collection and analysis for reporting purposes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources, or a related area is required. Candidates with a first-level university degree will have their minimum experience requirement reduced by five years. Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, such as Umoja, is essential, along with a minimum of one year of experience in data analytics or a related field. Experience within the United Nations common system or similar international organizations is desirable.
