Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the internship position include:
Drafting routine correspondence, reports, briefing notes, background documents, and minutes.
Collecting, registering, and maintaining information on government developments that impact UNHCR operations.
Assisting in the preparation and facilitation of high-level missions, workshops, and government meetings.
Coordinating preparations for strategic dialogues, high-level engagement, and senior visits.
Supporting internal coordination by managing information flow and identifying priority matters.
Ensuring timely communication with government authorities, UNCT, and external partners.
Contributing to the UN Strategic Cooperation Framework, including participation in the communication group.
Producing information materials for public awareness campaigns and preparing in-house bulletins, newsletters, and information kits.
Monitoring media and local situations regarding UNHCR. 1
Coordinating communication and cooperation with other UN agencies as part of the joint UN communication group. 1
Organizing and prioritizing tasks independently to meet deadlines and objectives.
Required Qualifications: To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Be a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate program from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO.
Fields of study should include media, communications, politics, international relations, development studies, law, business, or other relevant disciplines.
Strong verbal communication and writing skills in both English and Arabic are essential.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; graphic design skills are preferred.
Candidates must have completed at least two years of university or be a fresh graduate (no more than one year since degree completion).
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for effective communication.
Educational Background: Candidates applying for this internship should have a strong educational background, ideally in fields related to media, communications, politics, international relations, development studies, law, or business. They should either be recent graduates or current students who have completed at least two years of their university studies.
