Job Overview: The Junior Consultant position at UIL is designed to support the implementation of activities related to the Global Alliance for Literacy and the UIL Learning Hub. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Team Leader of the Quality Learning Ecosystems programme, contributing to various projects aimed at enhancing literacy education and promoting digital competencies among educators. The consultant will also play a key role in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the UIL Learning Hub, ensuring that it meets the needs of learners and educators alike. Duties and Responsibilities: The Junior Consultant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the Global Alliance for Literacy (GAL) by promoting and disseminating the Digital Competency for Literacy Educators courses through various networks and partner organizations. This includes drafting reports, preparing communication materials, and assisting in stakeholder engagement processes.
Facilitating the adaptation and integration of course materials for the UIL Learning Hub, particularly for the Digital Competency for Literacy Educators course in India. This involves liaising with partners, coordinating review processes, and preparing for pilot implementations.
Monitoring Learning Hub activities, tracking learner engagement, and identifying user support needs. The consultant will also contribute to the promotion of online communities of practice and assist in outreach activities related to the Learning Hub.
Assisting in the preparation of programme reports, presentations, and documentation for GAL and UIL initiatives, as well as organizing webinars and knowledge-sharing events. The consultant will undertake other related tasks as required by UIL, ensuring that all deliverables are met within the specified timelines.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in education, lifelong learning, adult learning and education, international development, social sciences, or a related field. Additionally, at least two years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, programme implementation, or education-related fields is required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent drafting and communication abilities in English. Experience with online learning platforms and digital initiatives is desirable, as is familiarity with UNESCO or other international organizations. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
