Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including:
Supervision and capacity building of the logistics team, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
Implementing NRC's logistics policies and procedures regarding procurement, fleet management, warehouse operations, and asset management at the office level.
Ensuring compliance with NRC's Logistics Handbook and donor requirements in all logistics processes.
Maintaining transparency and cost-efficiency principles in all logistics operations, including vehicle management and procurement of goods and services.
Establishing and maintaining a filing system and archive according to local requirements.
Managing the fleet of vehicles, ensuring regular maintenance and compliance with legal documentation.
Conducting procurement processes, including preparing and sending out RFQs and ITBs, issuing purchase orders, and checking procurement documents for accuracy.
Maintaining an updated vendor database and conducting regular market surveys to identify suitable suppliers.
Overseeing asset management, including tracking assets, managing staff issues, and updating the asset register. 1
Conducting regular spot checks to ensure proper filing and documentation of logistics-related information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Logistics Officer position should possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as CIPs or other relevant certifications in supply chain management.
Experience working as a Logistics Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context, particularly in complex and volatile environments.
Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, demonstrating effectiveness in logistics operations.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory, while fluency in Hausa is considered an asset.
Strong organizational and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
