Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Reporting Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks, including staying updated on operational developments and assisting in the preparation of briefing notes and reports. The incumbent will consolidate data and facilitate the preparation of periodic reports, such as Sitreps and Fact Sheets, and assist in preparing interviews for local media and background briefings for international media. Regular updates to relevant information tracking systems and adherence to electronic filing requirements are essential. The role also includes providing administrative support for routine services and activities within the unit, accompanying visits from foreign delegations and media to refugee sites, and offering appropriate briefings and interpreting support. The Senior Reporting Assistant will work closely with colleagues to ensure accurate data presentation, prepare and distribute meeting minutes promptly, consolidate inputs for donor reports, and support the identification and management of risks while seeking opportunities that impact objectives in their area of responsibility. Additionally, the incumbent will perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 1 year of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Essential qualifications include strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office with advanced Excel capabilities, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Desirable qualifications include training relevant to the position's function, particularly in Programme Management at Level

Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a High School Diploma. While no specific field of education is mandated, relevant certifications in Journalism, Social Science, or Humanities are considered advantageous. Experience: The position requires candidates to have at least 2 years of relevant experience for those with a High School Diploma, or 1 year of relevant experience for those with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. This experience should ideally be in roles that involve reporting, data management, or communications within an international or humanitarian context.
Languages: Knowledge of English is mandatory, as well as proficiency in the UN working language of the duty station, which is Spanish in this case. For National Professional jobs, knowledge of the local language is also required. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory for this position.
