Job Overview: The ET Consultant (Windows Server Administrator) position is a critical role within the World Bank Group's Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency. The consultant will be embedded in the Windows Server team, contributing to the management and maintenance of enterprise Windows Server environments across various platforms, including on-premises and public cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure, and OCI. The role requires ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance of the server environments, deploying Windows servers, executing regular OS patching, and administering Active Directory and related tools. The consultant will also be involved in monitoring and alerting, applying PowerShell scripting, and contributing to incident and change management processes. This position is integral to supporting the World Bank Group's digital transformation agenda and enhancing IT operations' productivity and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties will include managing and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), deploying Windows servers using certified images, performing OS configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Regular OS patching and vulnerability remediation will be executed in line with World Bank Group security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards. The consultant will administer Active Directory, manage NTFS/CIFS share permissions, and utilize Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools. Monitoring and alerting will be implemented using CrowdStrike and Splunk, including the creation of dashboards and operational visualizations. The consultant will apply PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline operations, contribute to incident and problem management, and maintain accurate system documentation. The consultant will also participate in the team's on-call production support rotation, demonstrating ownership in resolving client issues promptly.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required qualifications include experience in Windows Administration, developing Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform, and managing Windows servers across various platforms. Familiarity with Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Clusters, and Active Directory Domains is essential. Candidates should have experience with Windows Server Administration on VMWare, AWS, OCI, and Azure Cloud, as well as knowledge of security and compliance controls related to Windows servers. Experience operating in SAFe Agile environments is also required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position. The educational background should be complemented by practical experience in the IT field, particularly in Windows Server Administration and related technologies.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Windows Server Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This experience should include managing enterprise environments, deploying and configuring Windows servers, and working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and OCI. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices and Agile methodologies is also important.
