Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer - Motion Graphics Developer position is designed to support the UNDP Malawi's initiative to enhance the onboarding experience for newly recruited personnel. The role involves creating engaging motion graphics that will be used in introductory videos aimed at both international and national UN Volunteers. These videos will cover essential topics such as the Malawian context, performance management, living conditions, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security briefings, housing options, and the buddy system. The volunteer will work under the supervision of the Field Unit, transforming complex information into visually appealing graphics that facilitate a smooth onboarding process. This position is crucial in ensuring that new volunteers are well-informed and prepared for their assignments, thereby fostering a positive organizational culture and enhancing overall performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop motion graphics for introductory videos tailored for international and national UN Volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the Field Unit to gather necessary content and information for the videos.
  • Create visually appealing graphics that effectively communicate key onboarding information, including performance management, living conditions, and security briefings.
  • Ensure that the motion graphics align with UNDP's branding and communication standards.
  • Assist in the editing and finalization of videos to ensure clarity and engagement.
  • Participate in feedback sessions to refine graphics based on input from stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on best practices in motion graphics and video production to enhance the quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in motion graphics software such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creativity and attention to detail in producing engaging content.
  • Familiarity with UNV's mission and objectives is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Educational Background:
A degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Animation, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or coursework in motion graphics and video production will also be considered.

Experience:
Previous experience in motion graphics development or video production is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a portfolio of work that showcases their skills in creating engaging visual content. Experience working in a multicultural environment or with international organizations is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Malawi is an advantage but not required.
