Job Overview:
The ET Consultant (Backup Administrator) position is integral to the Infrastructure Engineering team within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency of the World Bank Group. This role focuses on managing and optimizing the organization's storage and backup infrastructure, which is crucial for supporting global operations. The consultant will be embedded within the Storage and Backup Infrastructure team, contributing to the administration of Pure Storage, SAN, and NAS environments, as well as cloud storage services on AWS and Azure. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and enhancing infrastructure performance, ensuring compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards, and supporting the organization's digital transformation agenda. The consultant will also be involved in scripting and automation tasks to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Administering and operating Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade environments, managing volume provisioning, host connectivity, snapshot scheduling, replication, and performance tuning.
• Managing enterprise SAN infrastructure across Brocade and Cisco MDS fabric switches, including zoning, multipathing, firmware upgrades, and performance troubleshooting.
• Administering NAS environments (EMC Unity and Pure FlashBlade), managing NFS/CIFS share management, Active Directory integration, multi-protocol access, capacity management, and snapshot/replication configuration.
• Monitoring storage performance and health across all platforms, diagnosing and resolving incidents across host, fabric, and array layers.
• Supporting capacity planning, tiering, deduplication, and lifecycle management to optimize storage utilization and cost.
• Managing and operating cloud storage services on AWS and Azure, ensuring configurations adhere to security and compliance standards.
• Supporting day-to-day operations of Cohesity DataProtect, including protection group management, policy design, job monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Developing and maintaining scripts to automate routine operational tasks and supporting infrastructure as code practices using Terraform.
• Supporting end-to-end storage migration projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and documenting outcomes and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or FlashBlade, enterprise SAN environments, and NAS platforms is essential. Additionally, candidates should have good working knowledge of AWS and Azure storage services, as well as familiarity with Cohesity DataProtect and backup concepts. Proficiency in scripting for infrastructure automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell is also required, along with an understanding of infrastructure as code principles and CI/CD workflows.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Candidates with equivalent experience in the IT field may also be considered, particularly those with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in IT, particularly in storage infrastructure management, cloud storage services, and backup solutions. Candidates with experience leading or contributing to storage migration projects will be preferred, as well as those with a strong background in managing enterprise SAN and NAS environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, proficiency in other languages may be beneficial in a diverse workplace.
