Job Overview: The position involves providing strategic communication consultancy for international cooperation, specifically aimed at enhancing the positioning of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). The consultant will work remotely and will report to the Coordinator of PROCAP and the AMEXCID representative. The role requires a part-time commitment, with payment contingent upon the delivery and acceptance of satisfactory products.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
Develop a strategic communication plan that aligns with the objectives of AMEXCID and the UNDP project.
Create accessible content that effectively communicates the impact of Mexican cooperation on development.
Conduct analysis of global trends and contexts that may influence the narrative of Mexican cooperation.
Collaborate with AMEXCID and UNDP teams to gather necessary technical inputs and insights.
Design and implement communication strategies that enhance visibility among citizens and international audiences.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
Prepare reports and presentations summarizing the outcomes of communication efforts.
Engage with stakeholders to promote the communication strategy and gather feedback.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in strategic communication, particularly in the context of international development.
Strong understanding of the dynamics of international cooperation and development issues.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs.
Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms.
Strong analytical skills to assess global trends and their implications for communication strategies.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication, international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's competitiveness for the position.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in strategic communication, particularly within the context of international development or cooperation. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable. The ability to demonstrate a successful track record of developing and implementing communication strategies is essential.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the consultancy will primarily involve communication in this language. Proficiency in English is also highly desirable, as it may be necessary for engaging with international audiences and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset.
