Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Programme Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: designing and implementing technical and productive diagnostics for assigned organizations; developing and monitoring strengthening plans for technical and productive capacities; assisting in the design of investment plans based on identified needs; creating and executing training plans focused on resilience and climate adaptation; conducting technical visits to improve production practices sustainably; verifying the progress of scheduled activities; supporting project actions, including calls for proposals and technical support; facilitating integration with private sector actors and local markets; providing technical guidance for certification processes; collecting and analyzing market dynamics information; strengthening the capacities of partner organizations; and ensuring that all activities incorporate sustainability, gender, and community participation. The assistant will also be expected to prepare periodic reports on progress and consolidate information for various reports as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a preference for a professional degree in agricultural sciences, forestry, environmental studies, or related fields. A postgraduate degree in agroforestry systems, sustainable agricultural management, or focused value chains such as cacao is desirable. Candidates should possess at least five years of professional experience in formulating, implementing, and monitoring rural productive projects, particularly in agroforestry systems or cacao value chains. Additionally, a minimum of three years of specific experience in providing technical assistance and strengthening rural or community organizations in accessing markets or inclusive business models is required. Knowledge of the productive structure of the national, departmental, and local agricultural and forestry sectors is essential, along with proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education as a minimum. A professional degree in relevant fields such as agricultural sciences, forestry, or environmental studies is preferred, and a postgraduate qualification in areas related to agroforestry systems or sustainable agricultural management is highly desirable.
