Job Overview:
The primary function of the Data Analyst NOB position is to connect analytics, monitoring, and learning to support evidence-based advocacy. Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Statistics, Data Science, Demography, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, Information Systems, or related fields. Candidates should possess proven experience in data visualizations, GIS, PowerBI, data analytics, emergency information management, and data storytelling. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, particularly in conveying complex information to non-specialist audiences. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's core values and competencies, including partnership building, ethical awareness, results-driven mindset, and strategic thinking.
Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in relevant fields such as Statistics, Data Science, Demography, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, or Information Systems. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of data analysis and its application in policy advocacy and program development.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in sectors such as Government, International Development, NGOs, or Consultancy. Experience should encompass areas like research, planning, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, data science, data visualization, geographic information systems, and policy advocacy. Relevant experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is particularly valued.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset. This multilingual capability is important for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
