Job Overview: The Partnership Consultant will work within the UNICEF Office of Strategy and Evidence – Innocenti (OSE), which focuses on providing evidence to guide UNICEF's efforts in delivering results for children. The consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the office's capacity for prospecting, proposal development, reporting, quality assurance, and pipeline funding monitoring. This position is vital for strengthening donor engagement and resource mobilization efforts, aligning with the strategic priorities outlined in the current Strategic Plan (2026-29). The consultant will collaborate closely with various units and sections across OSE to promote effective partnerships that support the division's objectives, ensuring that UNICEF can meet its ambitious fundraising targets during this strategic plan period.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
Strengthening the prospecting process for potential donors across public and private income channels.
Developing high-quality proposals that align with UNICEF's strategic priorities and meet donor requirements.
Ensuring timely and accurate donor reporting, maintaining transparency and accountability in all communications.
Conducting quality assurance checks on proposals and reports to ensure they meet organizational standards.
Monitoring the funding pipeline to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborating with internal teams to enhance donor engagement strategies and resource mobilization efforts.
Supporting the cultivation and management of partnerships, ensuring effective stewardship of donor relationships.
Providing technical and operational support to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Partnerships and Convening Unit.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, communications, international development, or a relevant technical field. Additionally, they should have a minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in partnership management, high-value fundraising, resource mobilization, donor reporting, or related areas. Experience working with the UN, international development organizations, foundations, or private sector service providers in humanitarian assistance or programming is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, political science, communications, or international development is required. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of partnership management and resource mobilization in the context of international development and humanitarian assistance.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 5-8 years of professional experience in relevant fields, particularly in partnership management, high-value fundraising, resource mobilization, and donor reporting. Experience with organizations such as the UN or international development entities is highly valued, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational and strategic frameworks within which UNICEF operates.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: This consultancy role is expected to last for a period of twelve months. The position is full-time and requires the consultant to work within the CET time zone.
