Job Overview: The Country Officer position at IFC is pivotal in supporting and coordinating the organization's activities across Singapore and Brunei. This role emphasizes business development, market mapping, government engagement, event coordination, and providing administrative support to senior management. The Country Officer will collaborate closely with the IFC Country Manager and various stakeholders, including private sector partners and government entities, to ensure effective implementation of IFC's country strategy and work program. Duties and Responsibilities: The Country Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Business Development and Market Mapping: Implementing IFC's country strategy, conducting research on priority companies and sectors, and monitoring economic and regulatory developments in Singapore and Brunei.
Government Engagement and Relationship Management: Maintaining relationships with government entities and development partners, preparing for meetings, and ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
Events Coordination: Planning and executing thematic initiatives and flagship events, managing logistics, and preparing event materials.
Senior Management Missions: Organizing visits and missions for senior management, including itinerary development and stakeholder mapping.
Administrative Support: Providing front-office support for day-to-day operations, tracking deliverables, and performing other assigned duties.
Operational Risk and Compliance: Supporting operational processes and maintaining orderly records of stakeholder engagements and event documentation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Public Policy, International Relations, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, a solid experience of 8-10 years in private sector development, advisory/investment-related work, and business development is required. The ideal candidate should have experience in government engagement, event planning, and providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries are essential.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Business, Public Policy, International Relations, or Communications is required. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in supporting private sector development, advisory/investment-related work, and business development within a country office or front office setting. Candidates should have a proven track record in government engagement and relationship management, as well as experience in planning and executing high-quality events.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this role.
