Established in 2024 as an Extra-Provincial Corporation in Alberta, Canada, the organization has been granted special consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2020, reflecting its commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The organization operates with a mission that includes five key objectives aimed at providing tools and opportunities for creative innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling networking and training activities, educating about fair business practices, guiding emerging entrepreneurs, and encouraging youth involvement in volunteering. The organization focuses on areas such as food security, advocacy, and education, aiming to positively impact local innovators and newcomers who face challenges in integrating into a new environment and starting life. The organization is currently re-launching a 12-week Online Visibility Campaign to expand its digital presence and highlight its work in innovation, skills development, and economic empowerment, with a goal to reach new communities and strengthen engagement through inspiring stories of change.

Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is designed to support Action Lab for Development's 12-week Online Visibility Campaign. Volunteers will work closely with the Communications Team to amplify the organization's social media presence and engage with a growing audience across various platforms. The role involves sharing content, engaging with posts, and helping to reach wider audiences, particularly targeting youth, educators, and grassroots changemakers. Volunteers will also promote MoralityCode, an application developed by Action Lab that embodies ethical innovation and technological precision. The campaign aims to showcase the impact of the organization's initiatives and the importance of social entrepreneurship in empowering communities. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in digital advocacy, nonprofit communication, and online community-building, contributing to a meaningful cause while enhancing their skills in social media engagement and content sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Online Volunteer include: engaging with Action Lab's social media posts by sharing, liking, commenting, tagging, and inviting others; sharing at least three posts per week on personal social media accounts across platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X; using provided captions or adapting them to fit their audience; including clear calls-to-action in their posts; posting content in relevant groups on social media; translating or localizing content into local languages if possible; and submitting a short activity report at the end of the campaign using a provided template. Volunteers will also join a coordination WhatsApp group and receive a starter kit with clear instructions and weekly content to share.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Online Volunteer position include a strong interest in digital advocacy, nonprofit communication, and community engagement. Volunteers should possess good communication skills, be comfortable using social media platforms, and have the ability to engage with diverse audiences. Familiarity with content creation and social media strategies is beneficial, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt content for different audiences. Volunteers should also be proactive, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating with the team.

Educational Background:
While there are no specific educational requirements for the Online Volunteer position, candidates with backgrounds in communications, marketing, social sciences, or related fields may find the experience particularly relevant. A passion for social entrepreneurship, community development, and advocacy is essential, regardless of formal educational background.

Experience:
The position is open to individuals with varying levels of experience. Previous experience in social media management, digital marketing, or community engagement is a plus but not mandatory. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience, making it suitable for both seasoned volunteers and those new to the field.

Languages:
While there are no mandatory language requirements, proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. Additional language skills, particularly in local languages, are considered an asset, especially for translating or localizing content.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and as such, it does not offer financial compensation. However, volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation upon successful completion of the campaign, recognizing their contributions. The role is remote, allowing individuals from various locations to participate. The campaign duration is 12 weeks, and volunteers will be expected to commit to sharing content and engaging with the community throughout this period.
