Job Overview: The Assistant(e) à la sûreté de l’aviation (SC5) plays a crucial role in supporting the aviation security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security program under the general supervision of the Chief of Air Transport and/or the Aviation Security Officer. This position involves providing both administrative and operational support to ensure compliance with aviation security standards (AVSEC) and effective risk management processes. The assistant will be responsible for maintaining documentation, ensuring adherence to AVSEC norms, and contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of air services. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various stakeholders, including airport authorities and external parties, to facilitate the necessary permissions and documentation for AVSEC activities. The assistant will also be involved in data compilation and reporting to support decision-making and operational planning.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Assistant(e) à la sûreté de l’aviation include providing technical and administrative support for aviation security activities, ensuring compliance with WFP's AVSEC standards, and facilitating risk management processes. Specific duties include liaising with airport authorities and local entities to obtain necessary approvals, conducting pre-flight AVSEC checks, coordinating with flight crew to ensure compliance with security requirements, addressing operational issues related to AVSEC, compiling and presenting AVSEC-related information for decision-making, maintaining accurate databases and records, responding to AVSEC inquiries, and supporting the review and improvement of AVSEC processes. The assistant will also be responsible for implementing emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid response capabilities during crises.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education, complemented by a certificate or diploma in a relevant field related to aviation. A valid IATA Aviation Security Awareness Course certificate is required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment. Additionally, candidates should possess strong administrative skills and experience in aviation security operations or risk management environments. Proficiency in data compilation, analysis, and report writing is essential, along with familiarity with operational flight plans and pre-flight coordination processes.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary education, along with a post-secondary certificate or diploma in a functional area related to aviation. Candidates must also have a valid certificate from an IATA Aviation Security Awareness Course, which is crucial for ensuring compliance with aviation security standards.
Experience: A minimum of five years of professional experience in a relevant field is required for this position. Candidates should have experience in supporting aviation security operations, particularly in environments related to risk management and safety. Experience in data analysis and report writing to support operational activities in aviation security is also necessary, as well as familiarity with ground operations and AVSEC processes.
