Job Overview:
The IM Officer (WASH Cluster) plays a crucial role in supporting sub-national coordination" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Cluster coordination systems, reporting to the WASH Specialist and Cluster coordination Consultant. This position is integral to the national WASH cluster coordination team, focusing on the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information vital for stakeholders to make informed, evidence-based strategic decisions. The officer will assess the needs of affected populations, prioritize areas based on WASH indicators, identify gaps in activities, and evaluate existing capacities to support prioritized response needs. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and the ability to present complex information in an understandable format, including maps, tables, charts, and narrative reports. The IM Officer will act as a bridge between decision-makers and technical staff, ensuring that data-driven insights inform programmatic decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IM Officer's responsibilities include supporting the WASH Cluster Coordinator by providing essential data and information for programmatic decisions. This involves liaising with different agencies, collecting and analyzing data related to WASH needs, and presenting findings in a clear and accessible manner. The officer will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, developing reports, and ensuring that all information management activities align with the cluster's strategic objectives. Additionally, the IM Officer will participate in meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and support capacity-building initiatives within the cluster.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Management, Information Systems, GIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field. Strong data analysis and information management skills are essential. Formal training in Cluster coordination or Information Management, as well as an advanced university degree, are considered advantageous. Proven experience in relevant fields such as Monitoring and Evaluation, needs assessment, and resource mobilization is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is mandatory. Candidates with advanced degrees or formal training in Cluster coordination or Information Management will have an added advantage. Educational qualifications should reflect a strong foundation in data analysis and information management principles, particularly as they relate to WASH Cluster coordination.

Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience is required, particularly in Information Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation, information management, data analysis, and related fields. Experience in humanitarian settings and coordination systems is highly desirable, as is relevant experience at the country level in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts. Candidates should demonstrate proven strong information management skills in a professional context.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Somali is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset. Strong communication skills in both written and spoken forms are essential for effective collaboration and information dissemination.
