Job Overview: The Accountant position at FHI 360 is crucial for the smooth implementation of the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) project in Zambia. This role involves performing a variety of accounting functions, including recording, classifying, examining, and analyzing financial transactions. The Accountant will be responsible for reviewing and consolidating financial reports, processing journal entries, managing cash receipts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position also entails responding to inquiries, assisting in training sessions, maintaining general ledger accounts, and producing various accounting reports. The Accountant will actively participate in accounting projects, including audits and system upgrades, thereby contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Accountant will be tasked with applying accounting principles to a range of fiscal functions, providing support for field programs, and reviewing monthly financial reports for accuracy. Key responsibilities include reconciling accounts, maintaining subsidiary ledgers, processing payments, preparing VAT reimbursement reports, and assisting with analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis projects. The Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, preparing financial reports, and maintaining data integrity.
