Job Overview: The Finance Assistant position is crucial for supporting the financial operations within the Country Management Support Units (CSUs) of WHO. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the National Operations Officer, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures in financial matters. This role involves maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and providing guidance on financial processes. The Finance Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with WHO's rules and regulations, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's financial management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Assistant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks including: maintaining accurate financial records and transactions, ensuring that e-Imprest records are balanced; processing VAT and other receivables; managing supplier invoices and payment requests; reconciling bank accounts; verifying financial transactions for accuracy; conducting spot checks on financial documents; generating financial reports; advising staff on financial processes; reviewing budget requests; participating in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis; and keeping abreast of WHO's financial regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying issues and recommending solutions, as well as maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong foundation in finance and accounting principles. Essential qualifications include completion of secondary education or equivalent technical training in accounting, budgeting, or finance. A diploma or higher education in accounting or finance is desirable. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, as well as a solid understanding of financial regulations and procedures.

Additional Notes: This position offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at NAD 606,792, subject to mandatory deductions.
