Job Overview:
The Procurement & Logistics Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement activities of FHI 360 Cameroon. This position is responsible for ensuring that all procurement processes are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. The associate will work closely with the Procurement Manager and other departments to maintain inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials, parts, and equipment necessary for the organization's operations. The role requires a keen understanding of procurement methods and the ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions. The associate will also be involved in monitoring departmental costs and performance to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Procurement & Logistics Associate include preparing and maintaining purchasing files, reports, and price lists; assisting in the development of bid specifications; reviewing requisition orders for accuracy; contacting suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues; approving bills for payment; maintaining compliance with organizational and government regulations; checking shipments for accuracy; comparing prices and specifications to determine the best bids; maintaining documentation of purchase orders; interacting with internal and external customers; analyzing quotations and recommending suppliers; obtaining delivery certifications; conducting internal audits; processing requisitions; evaluating the quality and need for supplies; and consulting with department managers on purchasing needs. The associate will also be responsible for inventory management and preparing equipment for end-of-life disposition.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school Advanced Level certificate, with a Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent preferred in Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of three years of procurement and administrative support experience is typically required. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer software. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of procurement methods and procedures, as well as the ability to analyze data and prepare reports. Prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred, and certification in procurement is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school Advanced Level certificate as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in Business Administration or a related field is preferred. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of procurement processes and the administrative support required in this role.

Experience:
The position typically requires at least three years of relevant experience in procurement and administrative support. This experience should include familiarity with procurement methods, compliance with organizational policies, and the ability to manage purchasing activities effectively. Candidates with prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) will have an advantage, as they will be more familiar with the specific challenges and requirements of working in this sector.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Cameroon. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders. Candidates should be articulate and able to communicate clearly and positively with clients and staff in both languages.

This position is full-time and offers a competitive salary range of XAF 7,000,000 - 9,000,000 annually, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
