Job Overview:
The Inclusion Intern will play a vital role in supporting the organization's Reconciliation, Equity, Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (READI) initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of READI, the intern will be involved in various tasks that contribute to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace culture. This position is designed to provide practical experience in internal communications, workshop design, facilitation support, recruitment, HR implementation, policy review, and light project management. The intern will help translate strategic objectives into actionable tools and communications that align with the values of Save the Children. The role is essential for connecting READI practices with employees, leadership, the Board, donors, and partners both domestically and globally.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include drafting and publishing internal communications related to READI initiatives, creating workshop content for various stakeholders, supporting facilitation in meetings, assisting with recruitment and HR initiatives, conducting policy audits, tracking project tasks and timelines, coordinating logistics for learning sessions, compiling data on participation and feedback, and researching best practices in reconciliation and inclusion. The intern will also be responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to safeguarding, privacy, and accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Job Program, including being between 15 and 30 years of age, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and legally entitled to work in Canada. Additionally, candidates should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant post-secondary program. A demonstrated interest in equity, anti-racism, and related fields is essential, along with strong writing and communication skills, project management abilities, and proficiency in MS Office tools. Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and knowledge of French or Indigenous languages is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate will have a background in social sciences, public policy, social work, equity studies, human resources, political science, Indigenous studies, or related fields. This educational foundation will support the intern's ability to engage with the various aspects of the READI initiatives effectively.

Experience:
While specific prior experience may not be required, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in equity and inclusion topics, as well as the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience in project management and communication will be beneficial for success in this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of French and/or an Indigenous language spoken in Canada (such as Anishinaabemowin, Inuktitut, Cree, or Michif) is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse communities.

This position is a paid internship at a rate of $20.00 CAD per hour, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. The internship will last for 8 weeks, from June 1 to July 24, 202
