Job Overview:
The Intern, Communications & Partnership Coordination will report to the National Reconciliation Program staff and will play a crucial role in advancing Save the Children Canada's commitment to Indigenous-led international development. This position is designed to strengthen partnerships with Indigenous Nations and organizations both domestically and internationally. The intern will be responsible for developing communications materials that elevate Indigenous voices and perspectives, while also maintaining robust systems for tracking and managing partnerships. The role will involve documenting and sharing learnings from complex, multi-partner initiatives, ensuring that Save the Children's partnership approach aligns with principles of localization, decolonization, and reciprocity. The intern will contribute to various projects, including the Building Climate Resilience from Indigenous Perspectives (BCRIP) project, and will be expected to engage with diverse audiences through effective communication strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: developing communications materials such as infographics, presentations, one-pagers, and social media content that showcase Indigenous-led initiatives; supporting the creation of case studies and documentation of lessons learned from projects like BCRIP; assisting in the preparation of project reports and presentations for stakeholders; collaborating with project teams to document innovative practices in Indigenous partnership management; developing visual materials that communicate project impacts while adhering to Indigenous data sovereignty principles; maintaining and updating the partnership database; tracking past, present, and future partnership projects; developing systems for organizing partnership documents; preparing partnership tracking reports; and assisting with tracking key dates and reporting deadlines across multiple projects.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet several criteria: they must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee protection; possess a valid Social Insurance Number; and be a post-secondary student returning to school in the Fall. International students are not eligible for this position. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong written and visual communication skills, an interest in Indigenous rights and reconciliation, proficiency with database management and digital tools, and strong organizational skills.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be current students enrolled in or recently graduated from relevant fields such as Communications, Indigenous Studies, International Development, Social Work, Environmental Studies, or similar disciplines. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of Indigenous partnership coordination and communications.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some level of project management experience, particularly in executing tasks related to assigned objectives. Familiarity with MS Office tools and relevant technologies is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Languages:
