Job Overview: The Multi CC Project Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating and leading emergency response efforts in the Kadugli area, which is currently facing significant challenges due to ongoing conflict. This position involves working closely with local stakeholders and partners, serving as the primary point of contact for NRC's programming in the Kadugli field office. The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of multi-core competency and emergency response activities, ensuring compliance with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments of humanitarian needs, selecting beneficiaries, delivering humanitarian aid, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities. The role also emphasizes capacity building for staff involved in emergency response, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Multi CC Project Manager will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including:
Line management of cash and capacity (CC) teams, emergency project staff, and MEL staff.
Coordinating and managing the implementation of multi-core competency and emergency response activities, including budget management and project documentation.
Collaborating with various stakeholders to develop emergency response strategies and approaches, including new project proposals.
Contributing to fundraising efforts by developing and revising funding proposals, budgets, and donor reports.
Ensuring high technical quality of CC and emergency projects by implementing technical direction.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout program implementation.
Overseeing program implementation, ensuring adherence to design, standards, and protocols.
Monitoring program progress, identifying challenges, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Supporting NRC's MEL team in conducting assessments and developing monitoring and evaluation plans. 1
Representing NRC in relevant cluster meetings and coordination forums, promoting the rights of IDPs and returnees. 1
Ensuring compliance with NRC policies and procedures in financial and logistical management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Multi CC Project Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project implementation within a humanitarian or emergency context.
Proven experience in emergency response and/or cash and markets programming.
Strong diplomatic and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English required.
Knowledge of the context in South Kordofan and prior experience working in complex, volatile, and remote environments.
Familiarity with cash-based interventions and market-based programs.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Development, Economics, Project Management, Agriculture, or Social Sciences. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and effectively managing projects in challenging environments.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in project implementation, particularly in humanitarian or emergency contexts. Experience working in complex and volatile environments is crucial, as is a proven track record in emergency response and cash and markets programming. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both written and verbal. Additionally, proficiency in Sudanese Arabic is required, as it is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Kadugli, South Kordofan, and is classified as a fixed-term contract until the end of December 2026, with the possibility of yearly renewal. The salary for this role is graded at level 8 on NRC's national salary scale.
