Job Overview: The position of Regional Humanitarian Coordinator at UNFPA Côte d'Ivoire is crucial for the effective implementation of humanitarian projects aimed at addressing the needs of populations affected by crises. The coordinator will work under the guidance of the UNFPA Resident Representative and the Deputy Representative, focusing on ensuring the continuity of essential sexual and reproductive health services amidst emergencies. The role involves mobilizing technical expertise to support the country office in humanitarian response, particularly in light of the increasing influx of refugees from neighboring countries. The coordinator will be responsible for developing project documents for resource mobilization, contributing to technical documents, and ensuring effective coordination and supervision of humanitarian interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to the country office and implementing partners in the preparation and effective implementation of humanitarian projects.
Develop project documents for resource mobilization related to humanitarian response.
Contribute to the creation of technical documents such as concept notes, data collection sheets, terms of reference, and presentations for the deployment of the Minimum Emergency Device for Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Support the coordination and supervision of implementing partners and monitor humanitarian interventions on the ground.
Produce minutes of all meetings attended or organized in the context of humanitarian response initiatives and resource mobilization.
Continuously monitor the implementation of recommendations related to humanitarian interventions.
Collect necessary data for producing results-oriented reports and updating the Dashboard for key indicators related to UNFPA's humanitarian interventions.
Organize and conduct inter-agency missions for monitoring and evaluating humanitarian responses.
Ensure follow-up on humanitarian response activities listed in the PTA DEX and activities of implementing partners, particularly regarding the functioning of VBG platforms. 1
Strengthen the capacities of implementing partners in monitoring their work plans and reporting on humanitarian aspects, especially concerning Sexual and Reproductive Health and Gender-Based Violence. 1
Contribute to the production of various reports for the office (quarterly reports, Sitrep, Milestones, project reports). 1
Provide any other technical support necessary for the effective implementation of preparedness interventions and humanitarian response. 1
Develop a monthly and quarterly report focused on results and humanitarian data, as well as a final consultation report.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate relevant qualifications, experiences, and skills for the mission. This includes a strong understanding of humanitarian response frameworks, project management skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Candidates should also possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish harmonious working relationships.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is required, typically a degree in public health, international relations, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian response or project management are highly desirable.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience in humanitarian coordination, project management, and working with international organizations. Experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, particularly in emergency contexts, is essential. Familiarity with the Ivorian context and previous work with UN agencies or NGOs is an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and a good command of English is also required. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may be beneficial.
