Job Overview: The position of Auxiliar Gestión de datos involves providing operational and technical support in data management and information analysis related to programmatic actions concerning emergency projects, livelihoods, school feeding, nutrition, social protection, and other initiatives. The role is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of WFP's interventions. The incumbent will work under minimal supervision, ensuring organized and precise execution of tasks, particularly in data management, validation, and analysis. This position is integral to supporting the WFP's mission in Colombia, particularly in assisting vulnerable populations affected by violence, marginalization, and climate change. The goal is to ensure these communities have consistent access to nutritious diets and to strengthen their resilience against food insecurity and malnutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support in the preparation, processing, and management of beneficiary information from corporate platforms and programmatic databases, contributing to effective and timely resource management.
Prepare informational inputs for the development of reports, operational updates, and other requests from the program team.
Assist in managing and organizing information used for tracking beneficiary requests and monitoring alerts generated in the SUGAR tool.
Respond to inquiries regarding information management and escalate issues as necessary to support timely activity management.
Ensure data integrity and quality in assigned records, verifying compliance with established criteria and notifying the supervisor of any inconsistencies detected.
Continuously update files, repositories, and information systems, ensuring documentation availability.
Support the development and maintenance of databases required for operational tracking of programmatic activities, adhering to defined formats and standards.
Conduct basic cross-referencing of information between different corporate sources to support control, cleansing, verification, and data consolidation processes.
Maintain operational communication with internal teams and partners, gathering information as needed to facilitate technical decisions or actions by the program team. 1
Perform other related activities as requested by the supervisor that align with the role's objectives and operational requirements of the program.
Required Qualifications: Education: Completion of secondary education cycle is required. A technical, technological, or professional degree in administrative, economic, engineering, or related fields is desirable. Specific Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing project/program information is required. Experience working in humanitarian assistance and/or development projects is preferred. Proficiency in database management and information systems is essential. Field operations experience, particularly in complex contexts, humanitarian assistance, or emergency situations with a focus on migrant populations, ethnic groups, and gender-based violence contexts is valued. Knowledge of the intervention area of WFP in Riohacha (La Guajira, Cesar, Atlántico, and Magdalena) is an asset. Proficiency in computer use and office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is necessary. Experience with web-based systems and corporate platforms is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education. A technical or professional qualification in areas related to administration, economics, engineering, or similar fields is preferred, enhancing the candidate's ability to perform the job functions effectively.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience in managing information for projects or programs. This experience should ideally include work in humanitarian assistance or development contexts, with a strong emphasis on data management and operational support in challenging environments.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
