Job Overview: The Communications Officer Expert will be a key member of the communications team at the UNFPA Regional Office in Panama City. Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Officer Expert will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including: pitching media interviews and coverage ideas related to UNFPA's mandate; drafting regional press releases adaptable to national contexts; organizing press conferences and media briefings; developing communication and media plans for report launches and major events; monitoring the UNFPA brand and relevant news; managing and updating a list of journalists and media outlets; writing and editing various communication materials tailored to specific audiences; producing and editing multimedia packages that highlight UNFPA's impact; ensuring all communication products align with global narratives and branding guidelines; creating Trello boards for organizing communication efforts; scheduling social media posts using Sprout; collecting and analyzing data for monthly reports; supporting staff engagement and internal communications; maintaining contact with communication focal points across the region; and promoting donor and partner contributions through effective marketing strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Communications Officer Expert position should possess a strong set of qualifications, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to engage diverse audiences.
