Job Overview: As a member of the Pneumonia & Pandemic Preparedness (PPP) team, the Program Officer will play a crucial role in managing grants related to pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, multi-pathogen serosurveillance, and maternal immunization safety surveillance. This position involves close collaboration with the leadership team to provide project management, communication, and implementation support across various initiatives. The Program Officer will be responsible for strategic planning, grant management, and external relationship management, ensuring that the initiatives align with the Foundation's goals of reducing childhood deaths from pneumonia and improving public health surveillance. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying strategic gaps in pneumonia research and guiding the development of new investments and proposals. The Program Officer will also synthesize relevant literature and data to produce strategic insights that inform the PPP team's work.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Officer will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including: planning and executing activities to support pneumococcal and surveillance initiatives; reviewing letters of inquiry and grant proposals; developing analyses and funding recommendations; consulting with grantees to enhance impact; identifying strategic gaps in pneumonia research; managing internal processes and portfolio progress; synthesizing health and economic data; cultivating relationships with grantees and partners; and fostering a collaborative team environment.
