Job Overview: The Project Assistant position is integral to the effective implementation of educational programs within the UNRWA framework. Reporting directly to the Chief of the Field Education Programme in Lebanon, the Project Assistant will play a crucial role in identifying and reviewing project needs, ensuring that allocated budgets are adhered to, and facilitating the coordination of financial and administrative aspects of projects at the field level. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant include:
Assisting in identifying and reviewing the project's needs for assigned activities and related allocated budgets in collaboration with Education Programme focal points.
Coordinating the financial and administrative aspects of the project at the field level, ensuring compliance with targets and objectives.
Collaborating with relevant departments and offices on procurement activities and services, including monitoring the progress of purchase requisitions.
Assisting in monitoring the operational and financial expenditure of the project in coordination with relevant staff and departments.
Drafting reports on the progress of project activities, both operational and financial.
Ensuring proper documentation and sharing of information as per departmental practices.
Performing other relevant duties as assigned by supervisors. This comprehensive set of responsibilities requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications: The position requires candidates to possess a completion of full Secondary Education, along with a two-year diploma in business administration or a relevant field. Additionally, candidates must have at least four years of experience in project support within UNRWA, another UN agency, or a non-profit organization. This experience is crucial for understanding the operational and administrative requirements of the role and for effectively contributing to the success of educational projects.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed full Secondary Education and hold a two-year diploma in business administration or a related field. This educational background is essential for equipping candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage project-related tasks effectively.
Experience: Candidates are required to have a minimum of four years of experience in project support, specifically within UNRWA or other UN agencies, or in non-profit organizations. Languages: For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required. Additional Notes: The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of 9 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability, satisfactory performance, and ongoing need. The monthly salary for this position is USD 1,428.70, which includes a basic salary of USD 1,261.70 and a special allowance of USD 16
