Job Overview: The Communications Advisor position is designed to support the organization of the HC-Peru annual recognition event by coordinating logistical arrangements and preparing a comprehensive manual document that outlines the procedures for organizing the event. The role is crucial in ensuring that the event runs smoothly and effectively recognizes the efforts of organizations in managing their greenhouse gas emissions. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Environment of Peru (MINAM) and will be responsible for planning and managing various logistical aspects, including invitations, venue coordination, catering services, and equipment rental. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring that all aspects of the event align with UNEP's goals and standards. The consultant will also participate in meetings and coordination activities with MINAM, working in a home-based modality that allows for flexibility and remote collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Communications Advisor include:
Coordinating all logistical arrangements for the HC-Peru annual recognition event, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and other necessary services.
Preparing a detailed manual document that describes the procedures for organizing the event, ensuring that all steps are clearly outlined for future reference.
Liaising with service providers to ensure that all logistical needs are met and that the event runs smoothly.
Collaborating with MINAM and other stakeholders to ensure that the event aligns with national climate goals and UNEP's objectives.
Managing invitations and communications with participants, ensuring that all relevant information is conveyed effectively.
Monitoring and adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate any changes or unforeseen circumstances.
Providing support in the evaluation of the event's success and gathering feedback for future improvements.

Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Event Management. Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in communications, event management, or related fields. Experience in organizing and coordinating logistics for events, particularly those that involve collaboration with the private sector, is essential. Additionally, experience working with public institutions, international organizations, or cooperation projects is highly desirable, especially in the context of environmental or climate change initiatives.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is required for this position, as it is essential for effective communication with stakeholders in Peru.
