Job Overview: The position involves supporting Action Lab for Development's social media efforts through various online volunteer roles. The organization is looking for four online volunteers to assist in different aspects of social media management and content creation. The first volunteer will focus on preparing visual communication content, including infographics, captions, and hashtags, producing two to three visual messages weekly. The second volunteer will optimize website SEO, improve keywords, meta tags, site speed, and content quality, while also posting and sharing approved content across multiple platforms. The third volunteer will create engaging content such as reels, blog posts, and live streams, while monitoring audience reactions and engagement. The fourth volunteer will coordinate audience engagement and livestreams, preparing scripts and monitoring social media interactions. This role is crucial for raising awareness about entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, and youth mentorship, and it aims to enhance the visibility and engagement of Action Lab for Development's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare social media content for visual communication, including creating infographics, captions, and hashtags, producing two to three visual messages per week.
Optimize website SEO by improving keywords, meta tags, site speed, mobile responsiveness, backlinks, content quality, and structured data integration.
Post approved content and share it across various platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Create engaging content, including reels twice weekly, six blog posts, and two live streams, while reporting weekly on audience reactions and engagement metrics.
Coordinate audience engagement during live streams, assist with setup, prepare scripts or slides, and produce post-event engagement summaries.
Collaborate with the on-ground team to ensure all content aligns with ongoing campaigns and communication goals.
Required Qualifications:
Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
Experience in graphic design and visual communication.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques.
Ability to create engaging written content and monitor audience engagement.
Familiarity with analytics tools to track social media performance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with a virtual team.
Educational Background: A background in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field is preferred. Relevant coursework or certifications in social media management, SEO, or content creation will be advantageous.
Experience: Previous experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing is highly desirable. Volunteers should have a proven track record of creating engaging content and optimizing online presence for organizations or personal projects.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the communities served by Action Lab for Development.
