Job Overview:
The Support Consultant for Mid-term Review will play a crucial role in assessing the performance of the WFP Country Strategic Plan (CSP) in Zambia. This position involves facilitating a participatory exercise aimed at internal learning and operational decision-making. The consultant will work closely with the WFP Country Office team and the Lead Mid-Term Reviewer to ensure the quality and accuracy of data used in the review process. The consultant will be responsible for supporting the compilation and analysis of program data, conducting stakeholder consultations, and contributing to the drafting of the Mid-Term Review report. This role is vital for informing adjustments to ongoing programs and enhancing the effectiveness of WFP's interventions in Zambia, particularly in addressing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and nutrition challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Support Consultant will have a range of responsibilities, including:
  • Collaborating with the Lead Mid-Term Reviewer and WFP Country Office staff to compile, verify, and analyze program data and documentation.
  • Providing technical support to monitoring processes and contributing to the interpretation of program performance data.
  • Supporting the collection and review of relevant documentation and datasets, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, including desk reviews and stakeholder interviews.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of field missions, including logistical arrangements and documentation of findings.
  • Facilitating stakeholder consultations and workshops, preparing discussion guides, and synthesizing key insights.
  • Supporting the organization of debriefing meetings to present preliminary findings and gather feedback.
  • Contributing to the drafting and finalization of the Mid-Term Review report, ensuring that findings and recommendations are well-documented and actionable.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Sociology, Social Development, Development Economics, Performance Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted. The ideal candidate should have 6-10 years of experience in the humanitarian or development field, with previous experience working with WFP and a strong understanding of WFP Zambia operations. Demonstrated skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and analysis are essential. Candidates should also have the ability to integrate gender, protection, and inclusion issues into assessments and evaluations.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Sociology, Social Development, Development Economics, or Performance Management is required. A first university degree may be acceptable if accompanied by significant relevant work experience and training. Continuous professional development through training and courses is highly valued.

Experience:
The position requires 6-10 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector. Previous experience with WFP and familiarity with its operations in Zambia is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record in conducting reviews, evaluations, or monitoring exercises, demonstrating their ability to manage complex projects and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English (level C) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English is the primary language of communication within WFP.

Additional Notes:
This position is open to Zambian nationals only. The application deadline is set for 30th March 2026 at 23:59 hours Zambian Time. The role is expected to be full-time, and the consultant will work under the guidance of the Lead Mid-Term Reviewer and in close coordination with the WFP Country Office team. The position may involve travel within Zambia for field missions and stakeholder consultations.
