Job Overview:
The position of Business Process Analyst at CERN involves working on the strategic project of the 5-Yearly Review, which is crucial for shaping the organization's compensation and benefits policies. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Compensation and Benefits team to analyze benchmarking results and assess modifications to CERN's compensation structures and policies. This role requires the modeling of 'what if' scenarios to evaluate the impact of potential policy changes. Additionally, the analyst will provide analytical support to the wider HR Department by developing dashboards and reports, and will occasionally assist in determining entry-level salaries in accordance with CERN's compensation framework. The position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work, and is expected to start on July 1, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Process Analyst will have a variety of responsibilities, including: participating in Compensation & Benefits benchmarking exercises, conducting structural analysis, and reviewing and developing related policies. The analyst will perform data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support compensation and benefits activities. They will also support operational activities related to entry salary calculations and develop, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for the HR department. Ensuring data quality and consistency is essential, which involves understanding the underlying HR data and processes. The analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement of data analytics tools and reporting, including the integration of AI tools into existing systems.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a strong ability to analyze, interpret, and visualize data clearly. A good knowledge of Excel and Power BI is essential, particularly in data manipulation, modeling, visualization, and advanced functions. An understanding of HR data and processes is crucial, and experience with an HCM system, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud, would be advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with a structured, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently. High levels of integrity and confidentiality are necessary, as well as effective communication skills to translate requests from non-technical stakeholders and communicate results clearly.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a professional background in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience is required, or alternatively, a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. It is important that candidates have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract before applying for this position.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a professional background in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 6 years of post-graduation experience if holding a Master's degree. For those with a PhD, no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience is acceptable. This experience should ideally include roles that involved data analysis, HR processes, and the use of analytical tools.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English or French is mandatory, with a commitment to learn the other language being essential. This bilingual requirement is crucial for effective communication within the diverse environment at CERN.
